So Much Waste! :(

OK, first off I'm beyond upset because I just wrote up a great story and it disappeared when I highlighted it to change the font. DANG! I'll try again. Before I start, take a guess as to what theses 3 bottles contain... no cheating. Now, continue to read and you'll see if you're right...
Here's the short of what I wrote:
- Tomorrow (Sunday) we leave for the annual Thimesch 4th of July celebration
- Last year it was at 9,000ft. elevation in Frisco, Colorado where I spent a week hugging the porcelin god due to morning sickness as I was 9 weeks pregnant at the time
- This year we are heading to Lake Okoboji in Iowa... no morning sickness anticipated, though I do expect to continue to experience some sleep deprivation :)
- I tend to keep 3 days worth of Tegan's milk (my milk) stored in Nalgene bottles in our fridge
- It's not too logical to transport 3 days worth of milk for a 5 day vacation and my milk only lasts for about 3 days
- I had to do something any nursing/breastfeeding mother hates to do... yes, I dumped 96+ ounces of breastmilk down the drain! :(

In other news, we/I bought Tegan some neat blocks at a garage sale this week... they are especially cool because most them have a hollow core that contains a semi-hidden toy. So, here's what we did. Tegan LOVED our trick... at least for a few minutes :)

Have a GREAT 4th of July!!!

Beach Time

Well, we got invited on our first official 'play date' today with some neighborhood families/moms. So, we packed up the car and went to one of Prior Lake's many beaches with 4 little girls (ages 1 1/2-5) and 2 other moms. It's funny, because the 1 1/2 yr old gave T the most attention of all the girls. His paci would fall out and she'd try to put it back in for him. TOO cute! Wish I got a picture of that. Well... here's some photos I took with our camera.

Tegan was VERY intrigued by the camera...
(ignore the background...showing a little more of myself than I'd like to HA!!!)
The other moms took some, too, but on their cameras, so I'll get those later :) T did pretty darn great. He really seemed to enjoy just sitting on the shore with his bum and legs in the water and kick-kick-kicking :)
Who could say no to those baby-blues?!
He also liked me to turn him into a boat and sail him across the surface (like doing the airplane thing, but on the water). Alas, though... no pics. It's tough to do all that and take pics :) Next time I'll have to take Brendan and we can rotate between photographer and parent :) hehe!
Love to all!

Fit & Trim

This is how Brendan describes Tegan... especially after a dinner of boob-milk, grean beans and squash! :) What do you think???
Here's what Daddy got to experience this evening:

First: Daddy sits with Tegan on the couch to watch some ESPN... scary how a 4 1/2 mo old already is mezmorized by it

Second: Daddy hears some very interesting sounds coming from the lower regions of Tegan's body... there's those prunes again :) (thanks Mama)

Third: Who cares if Tegan's diaper is full of prune remnants... we'll just stand him up so it doesn't squish up in the booty-crack

Fourth: Forget the fact that Tegan just ate (remember, the milk, green beans and squash?) Let's get CRAAAZY!

Fifth: What did you think would happen???

Love my Lovebug!

Well, since I didn't get ANY pictures of T and I on Mother's Day, I had Brendan take some of us yesterday on my b'day. :) Here's my favorite one :)

Also, B had a race today up in Duluth and he kicked some major boo-tay! Check his blog for details and a few pics. Gra'ma and Gra'pa Moore came, too, so T got to spend much of the race with them and loves almost every minute of it... hey, it's just not realistic for a 4 1/2 month old to be completely content and happy for 5 1/2 hrs straight. :) I guess the only new thing to post that I forgot to post recently is about T's laughing. He laughs ALL the time and it's SOOOOO cute! He's also super ticklish in his armpits, knees, neck, tummy and I even think his little boobies! HA! It's SO funny because his tickle laugh is almost a grunt giggle. Regardless of how it's described, it's just hilarious!

OH, word to the wise (apparently I wasn't thinking when I did this) but when introducing your lil' one to baby prunes, go easy on them. I kinda wasn't and now we've got a POOP MACHINE on our hands and they are NOT easy to clean up! Yeah, and for some reason instead of buying the usual 3 2-packs like I've done for all the other baby food, I bought 6! Not sure how or even why, but that's what happened. I guess the good thing is that Tegan loves them, so it's not like he won't eat them when I offer them to him.
Another thing. Ladies, watch out. As you've seen in previous posts, Tegan doesn't usually get too messy when I feed him. Well, here's what happened when Daddy got ahold of the spoon... not too pretty a sight if you ask me. I'm still trying to figure out how the prune-oatmeal mixture got on T's forehead. hm.....

One last thing... exersaucers RULE! :)

27 Big Ones!

Well, I'm officially 27 yrs old... only 3 years 'til 30 OR if I want to be optomistic - I've still got 3 years until I'm 30 :) Last night was my Bday BBQ... maybe gonna make it an annual event just so that it's a sure time that all the friends get together in one place... it's seemed to work out well the past few years. I didn't think to get my camera out while everyone was here, but it was quite a crowd with all the 'usuals" as well as many new friends/neighbors and LOTS of kids :) Here's a few pics to share... other than that, I'm gonna go relax :) Thanks to all who came and made the evening so fun... if you couldn't make it, no worries, I'll still be your friend but you did miss a pretty good time. Happy Summer!!!

Another Slideshow!

I think these are from April. Our neighbor Anthony took them. They turned out really well considering the fact that T screamed almost the whole time! :) Otherwise, not much else to tell except I'm trying to transition T to a 4 hr eating schedule and drop a bottle so he's only taking 4 a day instead of 5. We'll see how it goes... Suggestions are welcome! :)

POOP!!!!!

Well, I won't gross you out with the photo I took (Brendan has missed out on the last few poops and so I decided to share with him what he was missing out on) but Tegan has definitely graduated to the adolescent stage of poop. It started out as nasty, black, tar-like but thankfully that was only for 1 or 2 poops. Then, breastmilk makes it all... well, lets just say loose, not solid at all. Now that he's graduated to solids the poop has graduated as well. It's now SUPER stinky and a LOVELY thick, peanut butter texture, almost the same color as PB, too. Just think of that the next time you take a bite into a nice big PB&J sandwich! :) If you don't have kids yet, the fun will be all yours to have some day as well.

On another note, I changed the slideshow below so that you can choose whether you want the music to play or not. Just click on the speaker-looking icon to turn it on. I figured it was starting to get annoying to hear that song everytime you checked the blog. All for now. T's napping and I'm tired as well being that he's been waking up around 5:15a.m. the past 5 mornings or so. Happy Friday and have a FAB weekend. We'll be at Uncle Brad's graduation party. :)

Beach Practice

I hope you brought your sunglasses, 'cause Tegan did...Yeah, Baby, Yeah!

Well, I blew up the baby pool today and put it out on our deck and it didn't take long for Tegan to sure seem to enjoy the experience. "Why on the deck?" you ask. I didn't want the water to be freezing so in order for me to be able to to put warm water in the pool I had to make trips from the kitchen sink using pitchers. :) It didn't take long, actually, since I only filled the pool to about an inch deep or so. Ok, are you ready for the fun to begin??? If it doesn't work for you, just click here

Hope you enjoyed it and that it works! Expect more to come in the near future! Love to all! Let's go to the pool!!! :)

I Witnessed It!

Yes, no pics yet today, but I finally got to see Tegan roll over. Several times, in fact! It was SO great to finally see what I'd heard so much about. He got a little help in that I moved his hands so that he was leaning on his forarms, but otherwise it was all him. YAY TEGAN!!!

Ok, that's all :)

Crazy for Cereal!

Well, I know I've posted quite a bit about Tegan's experiences with "solid" foods, but he's just so darn cute and loves his cereal more and more everyday! To those of you who read this who have babies that haven't started solids yet here's a piece of advice... just keep in mind that every baby is different so maybe yours will be different from Tegan. Our pediatritian told us to mix T's cereal runny, like the consistency of soup. Well, Tegan didn't really do well with it that way and wasn't too excited about eating it at that texture (still isn't, cause that's what it's like for the last spoonful or so). So I mix the cereal to a thicker consistency and he LOVES it! Can't get enough of it and I can't get him the next spoonful fast enough in his opinion.

Also, I know we've only been using it for a week, but we/I love the high chair that we got. It's the Graco Contempo high chair and it folds up super compactly in just 2 easy steps... perfect for us since we're in a townhome and don't have much space to just keep the high chair out all the time. The only thing that's frustrating, though probably best for safety sake, is that it takes 2 hands to fold and unfold it. Here's a link to the demo of it :)

We also had another great day at the bike races today. Tegan did pretty darn well considering the pretty extreme heat (the thermometer read 100.0 when we left this morning... it's in the sun, though, so not totally reliable at times... the car therm. said it was 87). After a quick cat-nap he was back up and at 'em playing with Grandma Eastwood and Auntie Amanda and just EATING up the attention!
When Jen Meyer flatted (got a flat tire) she was next in line to play entertainer... by then Tego was pretty darn hot and gettin' tired again, but he enjoyed walking around in the sun and taking in the sights.

A big "Way-to-Go" to Brendan/Daddy for taking 1st in the Expert Men's category at the race today! He works hard and deserves to win more than he does! OJ sweetie! Tegan says "Ahgoooooobbbbmmm!"

Thanks for reading!!!

Lovin' Food!

Pucker up ladies!

4 Months Old!

Well, I couldn't resist not having some pics on here of T eating his rice cereal. Here are a few from Tegan's 4 month old Bday day! :)
Will we ever escape the bubbles??? :)

Nice Smirk!

I can't figure out where this face came from, but it's just too funny!

Just Another Day at the Races

So, I didn't bring a hat for Tegan because the forcast was for clouds and showers, so we had to make do.
Daddy didn't win, either, but he did get 3rd! Wasn't he nice to share his medal with Tegan?!

In other news, today was Tegan's 4 month doctor appointment. Here's the stats:

17.1 lbs - 89%

25 7/8 in. long - 80%

41.4 cm head circumference - 26%

OH, and we/Tegan got to start eating "solid" food today! Yes, a strange, soupy mixture of rice cereal flakes and breastmilk all mixed up. Only a few spoonfuls (infant spoonfuls that is), but I was pleasantly surprised by how much actually made it into the tummy and not on his face (or mine for that matter). No pictures as Daddy is out of town and really, nothing much to take pictures of anyway. Those will come when the veggies begin :) Love to all and thanks for reading!
