A Peek at our Week...

Yeah, yeah, I know you're really wanting and arsenol of new pics being that it's been who knows how long since my last post and you'll get some soon...but we just got back from Florida a few hours ago and it was a LONG day of traveling, so I'm just gonna post a few pics to wet your appetite for more. We had a great time and so far I've only downloaded the pics from my D-SLR camera to our computer and they total 350 "keepers" plus another 100-150 that I weeded out as not being "keepers." I still need to download the pics from our point-and-shoot camera, which has a full memory card as well. HA!!! So, Steph, Sarah and Lise, don't worry. Many pics will come soon. :) Enjoy what you get for now...

A Not So Sweet Week

Well... it's been a long and icky week here at the Moore household. Whatever bug or virus or whatever we've had is nasty and we're finally turning the corner. It all started Sunday with Tegan throwing-up several times. So, I stayed home from work with him on Monday and watched him play and laugh and make a mess of the house.

I went back to work and and T to daycare on Tuesday. Brendan stayed home not feeling well, actually feeling rather horrible with a stomach and backache and super weak overall. I got a call at 11:30 from our daycare provider that Tegan had puked up what she thought was his entire lunch. Thankfully I only had 15-20 minutes left with my kiddos before lunch so I finished out my morning, got a sub for the afternoon (praise God there was already on in the building who was only scheduled for the AM), picked-up Tegan, went back to school to write up lesson plans, started feeling really nasty myself, came home and barely made it up the basement stairs before I lost it myself. You'd think it'd stop there but it doesn't. While playing on the family room floor Tegan started throwing-up again (how much did the kid eat is all I want to know)!

After about 45 minutes or so Brendan and I decided there was no way either of us could take care of Tegan as we were both literally curled up on the floor with cold sweats, shakes, etc. I called all I could think of and finally got ahold of our great friend Jen (you're read of her several times). Again, PTL (praise the Lord) she was able to leave work and come lend a hand (actually both). Our realtor also came over with the papers for us to accept an offer (yes, the house is almost sold!) and brought up lots of 7-Up, thanks Tom!!!

Ok, so are we still on Tuesday? Oh, yes we are. One of the longest days of my life I tell ya! Jen stayed until 8ish I believe, and soon after I went to bed and left Brendan sleeping on the couch so as to not disturb him. Wednesday morning Brendan woke up feeling right as rain, but couldn't say the same for myself. Since he had puked the day before Tegan had to stay home regardless of how I felt, so I emailed lesson plans into a coworker and stayed home with him.

I had hoped to go back to work today (Thursday) but Tegan developed a fever of over 101F last night, so I knew he'd need to stay home today. I did call the pediatrician to make sure they didn't think I should bring him in, but they suspect that all of T's yuck might actually be due to the fact that he's "cutting" 4 teeth right now (his upper 4), so they said to just watch the fever and make sure it doesn't go above 102.

Tomorrow there is no daycare as it's Good Friday, but I Brendan already agreed to watch Tegan and I've got a work day at work... it'll be catch-up day for me and the boys' day together here at home.

So there ya have it... our nasty, yucky week here. Sorry for the lack of pictures, haven't really felt up to taking any until just these past few hours. Here's an oldie'. It's from March 20, 2007... one year ago exactly :) My baby is getting so big!!!Hope all is well with you and yours!!!

Love to all!!!

Daddy's Home!!!

Yeah, Daddy's back home! We are all excited for that. By the way, do you notice any things in this above picture? You might need to click on it and look closely to see them... Yup, it'd be 2 teeth that Tegan cut this week and 2 more ready to break through the gums any day now. Yes, your math is right, that makes 4 teeth arriving all but simultaneously. You could say we've had some long nights...
More, you say? You want more??? Well, here's Tegan teaching Daddy the sign for "more" :)
As most of you know, Brendan was in Singapore for nearly 3 weeks on a business trip. Let's just say single moms deserve a heck of a lot more credit than they get... and I only had 1 kid to take care of. I suppose having our house on the market and having to keep it in showing condition didn't help things, either. Regardless of all that, Brendan did finally get home last Wednesday... just as I was in the midst of battling some of the worst migraines I've ever had. You'd think that not seeing my honey for 19 days would make me want to spend every minute with him as soon as he got home. However, I was so exhausted from Tegan being up crying for several hours a night for the last few nights B was gone and from my previous migraine filled night that I took a 2 hour nap soon after arriving home from the airport.
Ok, enough woe-is-me talk for now... here are a few fun shots I got of my 2 love doves after school the other day. Aren't they sweet??? Awwww... And can you tell who dressed Tegan that day based on this next picture? Bike jersey and camouflage cargo pants... HA!
Do you notice anything missing in this picture??? Ok, I'll give you a better view... now do you notice what's missing?Did you get it right? Yes, it was T's other shoe. Rarely do we actually have both on... especially when we're outside. I guess a guy's gotta have dirty socks... even if he's only 13 months old.

These last few are just a few dedications to Grandma Moore as Tegan is wearing his new [faux] crocs. They just strike me as pictures you could have taken of Brendan 28 years ago. :)

Well, only one more "announcement" though it's not the most exciting milestone that we reached today... well really last night. Tegan has now officially vomited. :( Sure, he's spit-up before but we had real, honest to goodness puke this morning and last night. I consider myself one of the worst mothers right now as I woke up to hearing Tegan coughing last night but rolled over and thought nothing of it as he didn't cry much. When I went in to get him out of bed this morning he stunk like vomit and when I looked a little more closely there it was... in the crib, on his blankets, and (Sarah, skip this next like) even in his hair. I felt HORRIBLE despite Tegan's beautiful smile and typical friendly morning chatter. Well, after getting Brendan up to help bathe Tegan while I stripped his bed and washed the sheets and such we got T all dressed and brought him down for breakfast thinking that he must have just coughed so hard that it gagged him. Well, we think it was more than that, because about 10-15 minutes after a FULL breakfast of yogurt, egg omelet, mandarin oranges and milk the poor guy started coughing again and it ALL came up, all over him, some toys and the family room carpet. I would lie if I said that I wasn't completely and totally grossed out but, like true parents, we took what we were dealt and between Brendan and I we got it all cleaned up. Thank you Laurie for letting us borrow your Little Green Clean Machine!

To leave you all on a good note, Tegan fared well for the rest of the day and seems to be on the mend. Since T puked I had to take tomorrow off, but hopefully after a good night's sleep he'll be back to being my little rock star (see below)! :)

Love to all!

A Day with Mommy...

So I just had this all done, literally. Was highlighting all the text to change the font and it all disappeared. Only God and some super techy people know what happened, but I sure don't and I'm darn frustrated cause now I have to upload all the pics again... I sure hope you all appreciate it! :)
Ok, I'll see if I can remember what I put:
Well I took personal days off from work today and tomorrow cause our daycare provider is on vacation in Hawaii (yes, we are SUPER jealous!!!) and my parents, who usually do daycare on Thursdays and Fridays are also on vacation (they're in Florida... jealous again). Needless to day, Tegan and I spent the day together. We didn't do anything outrageously exciting, but still managed to fave fun. Mostly I just watched/photographed as much as I could. Tegan spent much of the morning crawling around the dining room... and playing in the kitchen... Yes, like all toddlers (yes, he's legally a toddler now that he's 1) Tegan loves to play with pots, pans, tupperware, bowls, etc. All went well until it neared 9:30... nap time. Once he had a good cry (of course I had to photograph that since nothing happened except exhaustion) a precious and innocent calm washed over my little man and all I could do was breathe.

Then tonight it was time, apparently, to empty Mommy's dresser drawers. I guess my sportsbra looked more like a purse to Tegan than, well a sportsbra. HA! I got a pic of him holding it up over his face, but it was all blurry. Sorry. Well, now I can't get Blogger to upload anymore pictures, so you won't get to see the disaster that was my bedroom after Tegan was done with it... you can only imagine I guess. :)

Love to all!!!

Guest Blogger! :)

Hi all. This is Stephanie, Jen's longtime friend. I'm here to hang out with Jen and get some Tegan time. Yeah, life is rough. I came directly from work which was around Tegan's feeding time. That little guy has quite the appetite because he made a "happy plate" by eating all of his dinner. After Jen cooked a delicious meal we got to play with T before his bedtime. He is so much fun and I highly recommend it =)

A little Godzilla

Jen took this next picture of Tegan right before the attack

Jen was gracious enough to let me play with her new camera. I must say, taking pictures of Tegan is a lot more difficult than I thought because never stops moving! Brendan, these Jen pictures are for you and the others are dedicated to Jen's loyal blog checkers (you know who you are). Here are our favorites:

Ok, now it's Jenn. Hope you all enjoyed the evening through the eyes of another. Take care...

A Day with the Ladies

Yesterday was my good friend Jen's wedding shower... well it was her first of several wedding showers. (below is a pictorial representation of how the showers seem to be lined up and just don't end... or something) :)The home that the shower was at was beautiful. It had these beautiful build in cubbies but they were drywalled and not big wood build-ins. Super fun!The owner loves white walls which actually make taking pictures pretty neat because all her accessories stood out so beautifully. As far as the shower went... let's just say that I think Tegan took a little bit of the attention off of Jen but I don't think she minded it at all.

This next pic displays Tegan discovering a bright pink gift bag. He was shaking it up and down as fast as it would go. It was super cute because he was laughing his big belly laugh. :)

This last one is just a fun one I got of one of the centerpieces... cool huh?

Well, that's it. Nothing new since Saturday except Tegan is being a champ sleeper. I'm so blessed that he's been sleeping all night and not waking up until I'm all but done getting ready in the morning. He's also begun talking to himself and playing in his crib when he wakes up instead of just crying, which makes it that much more fun to walk in and see his smiling face when I first see him each morning. YAY!!! Praise God for such wonderful blessings!

Ok... love to all!!!

Sneak Preview

Well... we had a fun-filled day with Aunt Amanda (my sister). Tegan got to spend much of the afternoon with her while I snuck out for an hour to get my nails done... it had been nearly 3 1/2 weeks... needless to say the lady did a horrible job and I'm super mad about that! I guess that serves me for trying to sneak away for a little me time, or something.
Anyways, while I was gone Amanda fiddled around with my new camera and got some pretty cool shots even though this was her first time using a digital SLR as she's only used an old-school film one :)
Here's a sneak preview of what we got. I've gotta get to bed as it's nearly 12:30am. OH, one more thing. Tegan is finally starting to use the baby sign I've been teaching him. So far he'll sign "milk", "more" and a very sloppy "all done". :)

Love to all!!!
