So... I have been trying to decide what I want to do for the new baby. Initially, when I was convinced I was having a girl, I decided I was going to get crafty and sew slip-covers for the bumper pads for the crib (as the ones Tegan has are removable, the covers that is)... then we found out we were having another boy and that shot that idea out the window. However, I got it in my mind that I still wanted something new for the new baby as everyone deserves a something new every now and then.
I was the oldest and I still got mostly hand-me-down stuff from older neighborhood girls and garage sales. Don't get me wrong, I love it because it was all "cool" and "trendy" stuff (though I didn't understand that those terms applied to the clothes the season prior, not the current season. HA!) Regardless of the thought that "hand-me-downs can be cool", I went looking online for some new bedding (just to see what's out there) as it's one thing I can get new that will completely change the room without spending a fortune (and subsequently getting me into the doghouse with Brendan). Surprise, surprise, the first crib bedding set I found that I LOVED(which I still find adorable) was $200! I can't say that's too expensive as I've see sets out there for $300 and $400 (or more) but it's really hard to justify that when it's just a bumper pad, a quilt/comforter (that honestly hardly gets used) and a bed skirt AND for a 2nd child of the same sex as the one you already have. SOOOO, then I thought, "Hey, I'll go searching at JoAnn Fabrics or something and find some similar fabric to make my own slip-covers and bed skirt." And that's just what I did. After school on Friday I stopped in at JoAnn to see what they had, not expecting much as the fabric I was looking for is VERY modern & trendy (something Brendan himself said that we'd look back on in 10 years and say we were crazy for buying something that ugly). I found 1 or 2 fabrics that I liked, but not loved, and they were already$35+/yd. Well, to get the amount of fabric I'd need I guessed I'd need several yards and that would put the project up over $100 in no time. Ok... so maybe I'd just stick with what I had...
Well, yesterday I was bored and looking at crib bedding again online and came across a super cute set, with the bright bold colors I was looking for and, get this, it was/is on clearance for $20, and that includes the quilt/comforter, bumper pads, crib sheet & crib/bed skirt!!! Seriously! You can't buy fabric for that cheap! So, after talking to a few friends I decided to "bite the bullet", as they say, and buy it. Well, the deal got even better, shipping was only 97cents and it should arrive within the week. All the customer reviews on it were great and I'm SO excited to see what it looks like in person. Here are the pics off the web:
Whole Set
Comforter
Crib Sheet
Bed Skirt
Bumper Pad
So that's MY exciting news for the weekend... that and we had an AWESOME pot-luck dinner at our house last night with 15 of our great friends!!! Hope your weekend was as great and "successful" as mine :) Take care and love to all!!!

I do love it... where is it from?
That is an awesome deal. I am on the same thinking as you getting new bedding for the new baby. I just saw the horrible condition Haley's was in and said I can't use this. So, good old mom, bought me new bedding at Burlington. It was $60. Not to bad..Where did you get yours at? I wouldn't mind looking at that website to. I love those little rocket ships on yours. You can't beat the price of shipping either!
