Back to Work!!!

Tegan playing in the baby shade/travel bed tent Auntie Jessica and Cousin Eli let us borrow :)

Sorry it has been so long (what, nearly a week?) inbetween posts... this past week was my first back at work and though it went relatively well I had less time to do things such as post updates on the blog. :)

Being serious :)

I expected that leaving Tegan for the first time for an entire day would be tough, but thankfully it wasn't. Good for me but not so great for my mom was that fateful time and the reason I say good for me is because Tegan was NOT a happy camper, a.k.a. it was nap time and he didn't want anything to do with that!

Getting tired after a long time under his play-gym

Right now my mom is playing the part of daycare provider/in-home nanny, so that's wonderful for us and her! Tegan really seems to be enjoying his time with Grandma Eastwood who has been taking him on daily walks and talking his ears off :)

Another picture from enjoying the baby tent/travel bed

I'm glad, though, that there are only 4 weeks of work left for me this year until I have 3 months off. I welcome this short break from being full-time mommy while I wrap things up for the year at school, but do miss Tegan a lot during the day!

Tegan, again, playing in his tent... note that it's him moving, not the camera (the tent is in focus) :)

Tegan and I have also been enjoying a lot of runs together. He actually stayed awake for an entire run this past Thursday, which he's never done. We think it's because he only needs/takes 2 long naps a day now as opposed to the 3-4 shorter ones he had been taking prior to my return to work.

Tegan playing with one of his new 'Oballs'... (the other one is 2x the size of the one pictured)

Starting today I'm trying a new schedule of having him take a nap from 10/10:30-Noon and then an afternoon nap, though I'm not sure when that should be. It seems like a 4:30-6p.m. would be too late and not really logical, but I don't know. I'll have to ask neighboring moms their opinions. Today I think I'm going to try to put him down at that time, though, for his p.m. nap or earlier if he's ready. We'll see... I'll let 'ya know :)

Thanks for reading and get out and enjoy the weather! :)

Oldies but Goodies

Well, Tegan is in the midst of his first REAL roadtrip this weekend. We are in Middleton, WI (right outside of Madison) visiting friends from college and Brendan is racing in nearby Platteville. I have no NEW pictures to show, but since I have access to "Auntie" Mackenzie's computer, I do have some photos that are new to me from when she visited back in February. SO... enjoy.

Tegan did pretty well on the trip down here, given he basically slept the entire way except for when we stopped for dinner (for both B and I as well as to give T a bottle).

The hardest part so far has been last night (Friday night) and today. Since Tegan basically slept for the close to 5 hours it took to get here, he did not want to sleep much last night. As usual, Mom (me) was the one who got to then 'deal' with that. Anticipating this problem, Dad (brendan) just started on the floor as the bed we have to sleep in is only a full (much smaller than the king we are used to at home). Then, for some reason today, Tegan has also decided that he doesn't need to take any naps lasting longer than 30 minutes. All I have to say about that is that hopefully that means he'll sleep like a rock tonight. I can dream, can't I? (oooh, that question could have several meanings)

Enjoy...

Spring is FINALLY Here!

Well, it was finally really nice this weekend and we were able to take Tegan outside without his fleece snowsuit on. Today we took him over to see the horses that neighbor our neighborhood. According to Brendan Tegan LOVES the horses and when he's in a really good mood (Tegan that is) he'll get all excited and coo up a storm when he sees them. Well, Tegan must have been in just an OK mood today, because he just watched the horse that came to visit him.

After seeing the horses I (Mom/Jenn) plopped Mr. T into the jogger stroller and he and I took a nice 2 1/2 mile run. As usual, the motion put him right to sleep despite all of the jiggling from the bumpy road and gravel shoulder.

Now he's sleeping and just looks funny. The picture doesn't do his position justice. Basically he is sound sleep, snoring, has his neck craned to one side, arm sticking straight out and he is still managing to suck his pacifier like crazy! :)
Love to all!!!

A Big'n!

Well, we've got a big'n!

Today was Tegan's 2 month DR appointment.
Here's the latest:
13 3/4 lbs --> 91%
23 5/8 inches long/tall--> 74%

Looks like all that eatin' is paying off! HA! The doctor even commented on the strength of T's quads/thighs :)

(like the smirk on his face? HA!)

Speaking of thighs, today was also the day for Tegan's first round of immunizations... 2 shots in each thigh to be exact. Poor little guy seems to be a bit sore tonight. Hopefully another round of Tylenol will help with that. And, it should give him a chance to take a nap (he's now been up for 3 1/2 hours). Enjoy the pics...

First Easter

Well, yesterday was Tegan's first Easter and he looked darn cute and seemed to really enjoy church (he didn't cry). Here are a few pics of the Moore trio and the Moore-Eastwood family. Didn't realized the camera was set to black-and-white when we took the group shots... oh well. :)

One of my favorite family pics so far just cause you can actually see T's face :)

I think someone's daddy really loves him!

My little man 'n me :)

The (I think) 1st Eastwood-Moore family photo

Love to all and God bless!!!

Mr. Stubborn

SO... Tegan decided around 4am today that he didn't want to go back to bed (after his 3:30 feeding). He'd sleep for 15 min and then wake up crying. I'd let him go for 5 min or so to see if it was just him passing through 2 phases of sleep but, no, he just didn't want to sleep. So, I'd go give him his pacifier (which he'd spit out), rub his tummy for a minute and then go back to bed...15 minutes later it started over. I let this go on for about an hour (so about 3-4 rounds) and finally brought him into bed with Brendan and I. He basically continued the routine but with 20-30 min intervals between crying/fussing. OK, so whatever... I actually think I slept through a little of it and was able to soothe him in my sleep. 6:57am came and there was no more soothing the situation--> it was time to get up. I was ok with this, it was time for his 7am feeding. Well, it's now 12:45pm and Mr. T is finally asleep for the FIRST time since then. I tried putting him down around 8:30 and he snoozed for maybe 5 minutes... no longer. Then, I again tried at 11:30 after his 10am feeding... no dice there, either. Then, at noon he decided it was time for his next feeding (though it wasn't due til 1pm). Well, he took 3/4 of the bottle and there was no getting him to take anymore. 20 more minutes of fussing and he is finally asleep, though not where I'd like him to be, which is in his crib. He's down here in his vibrating bouncy chair (which we LOVE because it is so soothing to him). I really want to try to take him upstairs and put him in his bed, but I fear that if I do he'll wake up and we'll start back at square 1. Having said all this... it's so hard to get upset with him, he's so darn cute! :)
Still love being a mommy and plan on doing it 2 more times (3 if I have my way). Enjoy the latest pictures!

Cheeks McCheekerson!!!

Check these puppies out!!! Have you ever seen cheeks like this on anyone?! We are so proud of these cheeks and kiss them lots, and lots :) OK, so this picture does actually exagerate the size of the cheeks, but they are still so darn squishable.
This is a REALLY blurry picture, but you get the idea. It's so hard to capture one of T's smiles with our digital camera because of the lag time. I think this is so cute, just wish it was more in focus...
We went to Rochester to visit Grandma and Grandpa Moore Friday night. Tegan's grandma is so in love with him! He is VERY lucky to have such a wonderful family who loves him so much and lives so close that we can visit them often.

I'll end with one of my new favorite pictures.

Love to all!!!
