He Did It!!!!

Well, Brendan and I are officially in trouble... in a good way, I guess. On Sunday morning, Tegan took his first few crawling steps/moves whatever you want to call them. Now he uses a combination of a couple crawls and some strange worm like motions involving one hand, one forearm, pushing off with his right foot (seems to prefer that one) and sticking his butt way up in the air to maneuver his way around. It's amazing how fast he can already move considering the complexity of his current "crawl". Unfortunately I have no pics of this yet as I was too busy just watching this all take place. Keep checking back for pics... I'll do my best to catch it on 'film' (as they used to say) :) Instead, I'll leave ya with some pics from this weekend.

HeaVyweight!!!

Holy Cow! So, we weighed T last night... yes, we used the fish/bike scale again :) Here are a few pics that tell the story. And, yes, we tared/tore (whatever the term is) the scale so the weight you see below does NOT include the weight of the carrier... yes, that's really how much the HUGE Dude weighs. We are getting closer and closer to crawling every day. It's crazy! he pulls himself using anything he can (grabs onto chairs, table legs, etc). He will also just roll over to wherever he wants or pivot his body in that direction. We'll keep you all updated 'cause I know that many of you are anxiously awaiting the crawling announcement :)

While he waits to start crawling, T's decided to read his new book.
Love to all!

Another Trip to the Orchard

Well, today was our "playdate" with AJ and Trevor... 2 of my coworkers' kiddos. AJ and Trevor are both 6 months old, so a little younger and much smaller than the big dude, Mr. T. We had a ball taking pics of the little guys in their Halloween costumes... No real news to post as far as T goes, still now crawling, but still getting up on his knees and rocking, so I'm still sure it'll happen pretty soon. Enjoy the pics!
Also, congrats to Chris and Jen on [finally] getting engaged!!! Check out Brendan's Blog for a pic of the ring if you'd like :)

MOOOOO!

So, I bought a Halloween costume for Tegan today... It was just SO cute that I couldn't pass on it... what do you think? The only problem is that Tegan hasn't learned how to "moo" yet... although he has learned how to snort like a pig. HA! (here's a pic of him doing just that)There was a pretty cute pig costume, too, but it had eyelashes and looked pretty girlie, so I did have to pass on it.

I think I've already explained how T loves ice cream, but if not... he does. He's starting to get pretty bossy about it. Brendan apparently was waiting too long between giving T bites and T started slapping the ice cream tub. I think he may have inherited his mommy's dessert sweet tooth.

As you may know, each week brings a new sound or action that we get to experience over and over as T practices it... today it became the wet raspberry with the tongue stuck out. It's wonderful, let me tell you... spit flying everywhere. Actually, it's not so bad cause he only does the raspberry thing sometimes... usually it's now just sticking out the tongue like you see below, which is pretty dang cute, if you ask me.

OH, and as promised, here's a few pics of T on his hands and knees... well on his way... he's almost there in the bottom pic :)

So Close!!!

Well... I have a strong feeling that we'll have a post titled "And We're Off" very soon, maybe even this week! Tegan now can pull himself up onto his hands and knees. From there he rocks back and forth and tonight I swear that I saw him trying to move one knee forward, but then he fell down to the tummy. Sorry, no pics of that yet. I'll be sure to keep you all updated on this. We got the gate out tonight and it's all ready for when we need to actually begin using it. :)

Otherwise there's really nothing to report. T spent the weekend with my parents while Brendan and I went camping with 10 of our close friends just outside of Black River Falls (BRF), WI. We had a great time and the rain held off until this morning, so after all our fun was had. :) Once I unpack and find the camera I'll post pics from camping, if there are any worthy of the blog, that is.
Love to all!!!

Long Time - No Post... Sorry

Hello to all my faithful readers. I'm sorry it's been so long since I last blogged. To be perfectly honest I've just been too busy and too tired. I FINALLY have students at school, but I, in turn, am also now extremely exhausted when I finally get home in the afternoon. Things are going OK, with school, though I really seem to have a bunch of kiddos who are really stubborn and have a really hard time listening to/following directions. It'll just take some extra work to get them to where I want them to be behaviorally.
On to the reason you visit this... Tegan. As of today the Big Man is 8 months old!!! I know I can't believe how fast the time has gone by. It's CRAZY!!! I feel like not a whole lot developmentally has happened since my last post other than T's new LOVE of clicking his tongue. It's the funniest thing, seriously! If he's upset, just click your tongue and he'll laugh and start clicking his. He also enjoys clicking in between each bite at dinner... and just about whenever he wants. Our daycare provider told me how he got just about all the kids at daycare going clicking their tongues and she was just about ready to pull her hair out but had to laugh at the same time. HA!
Last weekend was comprised of a trip over to Janesville, WI for Tegan's cousin's (my niece's) baptism. It was really cute to see the 2 kiddos interacting. Aubrey is 10 months old, so 2 months older than T, but they have both hit just about the same milestones as neither one is crawling yet, though Aubrey has gotten her 1st 2 teeth. At one point Aubrey (who isn't really a nuk/pacifier girl) decided she needed Tegan's paci, so she kept leaning over and taking it out of his mouth so she could chew on it. Tegan is too nice (or just didn't know how to react) let her go ahead and do it, but then he would get the most sad and confused look on his face. I wish I got a picture (or 10) of that. OH well...
I guess that's really all for now. T's been in this habit of waking up around 3 or 4 am (again) and not wanting to go back to sleep until 6 or 6:30 (and yes, Brendan still sleeps through most of this), so that, too, is another reason I'm super tired... on that note, I'm gonna rest. Take care!!!
