A Long Few Weeks

Well, it's been a bit of a long few weeks at our house... especially between the hours of 10pm and 7am as T has had a rough time sleeping since he got his Flu shot about 2 weeks ago. I doubt it was the flu shot that did it, but that's the same day that the bad sleep started. Let's just say T went from waking up 1 or 2 times a night to COUNTLESS times and most nights, for about a week there, he ended up in our bed by 2 or 3am... basically I would just decide I was sick of waking up to him crying and being upset. We think that there were a lot of things that compounded around that time including the flu shot, movement of his 2 year molars and a bit of a cold/cough, oh, and then we've traveled for the past 2 weekends, so that could have added to things, too (not sleeping in our own beds). Regardless of whether or not these things were causes or coincidences, it has been rough. Thankfully, days haven't been so bad as T has been taking naps well.

OK... on to happier things :) The weekend before Thanksgiving found us traveling down to Mt. Pleasant, Iowa to visit Brendan's paternal grandparents. Other than the long car ride (which Tegan handled FABULOUSLY) the weekend went well. T even got to go swimming in the hotel pool in his diaper and sweatpants (we forgot to bring his swimsuit). Unfortunately, as soon as I got the camera out T decided swimming was done. However, word on the street (aka according to Ga'ma, Papa & Daddy) is that T was jumping from the side into Daddy's arms and kicking his legs to "swim". What a big boy! (So upset I didn't get any pics of that!)

Time at Great Ga'ma's and Great Papa's house was nice too. Tegan was definitely the life of the party! It was so great to see the smiles and joy that my little man brought to the lives of his great-grandparents. Pics will come soon, but they are on my other camera.

Thanksgiving Day found us up in Shoreview visiting Ga'ma and Papa Eastwood. Aunt Amanda joined us, but T seemed to have her on his black list as it took hours for him to warm up to her. It finally took Auntie Amanda's offering of sharing "her" ice cream with Tegan to get him to even let her touch him. I guess it's just a sign that we need to spend more time together :)

On Thursday evening we drove down to Rochester to spend the rest of our Thanksgiving break with the Moore side of the family, as we don't get to see them as much as the Eastwood side. For Thursday night and most of Friday Tegan had Ga'ma and Papa Moore, Aunt Becca and Uncles Bradley and Ben all to himself. Needless to say he thoroughly enjoyed all the attention. We were a bit worried about what might conspire once Aunt Bri, Uncle Joe and Cousin Aubrey arrived (in terms of sharing attention) but we were relatively pleasantly surprised by Tegan's excitement in sharing all of "his" toys with Aubrey. He was NOT excited about sharing the attention from Ga'ma and Papa, but like I said, we expected as much... and he became more tolerant of sharing that attention as time wore on.

Sunday was Aubrey's 2nd birthday, so we got a good laugh out of her opening her presents and Tegan taking SUCH an interest in them. Let's just say that Aubrey is VERY MUCH a girl and loves all things girly and Tegan seemed to be very in touch with his feminine side. HA!

Well... I think that brings us back to the present day. I'm sure I've missed plenty, but if anything comes to me I'll post it next time. Hope you all had a fabulous Thanksgiving and remembered the reason for the holiday. God bless and love to all!

so cute... If this is still happening to Tegan you should bring him in... We were having the same issues and finally I brought him (Sutton) in and he had a double ear infection with one about to "burst"... He never complained about his ears or anything... UGH...All is better now so it's worth a trip if it continues...
