Merry Christmas to All!!!

We've had a wonderful Christmas weekend and day and we hope the same goes for all of you, too!!! Here are a few pics of what we've experienced over the past few days. Take care!!!

Tegan can now climb stairs... whoopee!

Yes, that's Tegan biting/chewing on my shoe. Yum, Yum!

Tegan's first Christmas cookie... can we say sugar high? We were too busy chasing him to get any pictures of that, but let me tell you - sugar's effect on kids is NO myth!Apparently it'd be fun to let Tegan wear saftey goggles... he wasn't so hot on the experience, but it did make for a cute picture. :)

The rest of the good pics are on the cameras of our family members... so as we receive them we'll post them.
Love to all!!!

"Hi-Yo"

Yup, that's what T will say if you get him going on the phone. I've got a video of it, but he doesn't say hello until about 90 seconds in, so just too big to post. I'll keep trying... He is now 'speaking' if you want to call it that... though his vocabulary only consists of da-da, hi and hello (or "hi-yo" as he pronounces it). Occasionally you'll get a ma-ma out of him, but not often at all. :(

What else to "announce"? OH, Tegan decided that he needed to open his Grandpa Moore's Christmas present for him tonight even though Grandpa wasn't here. Unfortunately I can't put up a picture of it because that would reveal what the present is. Maybe after Christmas I can share that.

Another of Tegan's new talents is playing the keyboard... I wouldn't say that the music he composes is the most beautiful I've ever heard, but but it sure makes me smile. Oh yes, and please note that you should NEVER play while sitting down but standing and leaning over to play... OR you can just stand on the keys (don't have a pic of that one yet).
Ok, sorry but all for now. Watching The Office. :)
Love to all!

10 Month Stats

Tegan's 9 month well baby check-up was yesterday even though he's just over 10 months. Here are the stats:
Weight: 23/11 pounds = 80%ile
Height: 30 inches = 80-85%ile (the doctor said 85th and the sheet the nurse wrote for us said 80th)
Head Circumference: 45.3cm = 40%ile (which surprised me because it's always tough to get T's shirts over his head. HA!

More pics later... I'm posting from work.

Splish Splash I Was Takin' a Bath

Hehehe! Our little man was just too cute in the tub tonight... I couldn't stand not sharing at least 1 or 2 pics of him and his little bare body. (note the teeth in the above pic... I think the top ones are getting ready to move on in now too... the extreme drooling and ear pulling has begun again... oh yeah, and apparently he's been poopin like crazy. Another teething sign I'm told)
As you can see from the picture above, Tegan can now pull himself up to a standing position... quite easily, in fact. I have a feeling that means that we have even more trouble on the way :)

Here's the only smiling pic we could get of T with his Santa hat on... needless to say he wasn't too fond of it, though he did have fun pulling Mommy's hat down over her face.

Here's what I came home to yesterday after I went grocery shopping... it was just too precious not to take a pic.Love to all!

Put the Lid Down!!!

So... I'm getting ready for work this morning and the bathroom (doing my make-up and stuff) and hear Tegan come in to watch me... nothing new. Well, I didn't realize that SOMEONE (won't say who) left the toilet seat and lid up. (Who could have done that???) Tegan has become somewhat fascinated with toilets, but only when the seat is up. Suddenly I hear "plop" and look over... like a true mom I had a camera close by. this is what I saw...

Have a good day!

First Snow Experience

Sorry it's been so long since I've blogged... I've got conferences this week so have been crazy busy. Here are some pics of Tegan and his reaction to his first experience with snow (as he was too young to take out in the snow in February) :) He really wasn't so sure about the whole idea, especially since it was so cold.

On Sunday I decided to bring the snow in to Tegan. So I got a great bit bowl and put some nice, clean snow in it...

However, T was still not so sure. Below is his reaction to eating the snow. HA!

Tegan has reached yet another milestone, too. This is what I saw when I offered him a remote control to play with:

Yes, Tegan was talking on the "phone." It was the cutest thing ever! I tried to upload a video of it, too, but it didn't work. I'll try again later.

Well, it's nearing 7am and we gotta get ready for work/daycare.

Love to all!

Baby Wipes

I am in tears when I watch this cause it's so funny!!! Enjoy!

What you can't hear is Tegan sucking on the wipe. Also, the fun continued even after the camera stopped recording... I finally took them away because T would pull out another wipe and stick it in his mouth after I took the previous one out of his mouth.
I'll add more Thanksgiving weekend photos later.
Love to all!

Midnight & Magnets

I'll explain the title of this post:

Midnight (give or take an hour) is when Tegan has been waking up at night. As I've shared before, Tegan wakes up crying in the middle of the night sometimes, almost every night over the past week or 2, and it's all I can do to get him back down, at least it seems that way. For most of this past week I've been trying the Ferber method of waiting 5 minutes after the crying begins and then going in, patting T on the head, giving him his paci (if needed) and then going back to my bed. Then, after another 10 minutes I repeat the above... then wait 15 min and so on. Well, that seemed to work this past week. I usually only had to go in 2-3 times and after the 3rd time T would give up and go back to sleep on his own and then sleep until nearly 7am (which is a major improvement from the 5:30am wake-up which was becoming the norm when we brought him into our room to sleep when he'd wake-up crying).

Just a cute picture, has nothing to do with this story :)

Well, last night T woke up around 11p.m. and then proceeded to cry off and on until about 2a.m. Every now and then he'd stop long enough for me to allow myself to fall back asleep and then I'd awaken again maybe 20 or 30 min later to his crying. A few times I found that the crying was "because" his paci had somehow exited the crib (whether it fell or he threw it out I'm still trying to figure our). I gave-up at 2 a.m. and finally took him out of the crib to realized that he had a very wet diaper, he hadn't peed through it, but it was indeed very wet. So, I changed that and then brought him into bed with us. What did he then try to do for the next 20 minutes??? OH, that would be PLAY! Yes, he came into bed and then decided that it was time to pull my hair, roll back and forth between Brendan and myself, stick his fingers in every possible hole on my head, sit up, crawl, you name it. Being a light sleeper, there's no way I could have slept through that unless I was under anesthesia, but Mr. Won't-Wake-Up-For-Anything, a.k.a. Brendan, wake up and quickly returned T to his crib. All I know is that once Brendan took "control" I fell back to sleep. From there, I just know that Tegan was crying again at 7:24, so that's when I got up for the day. (WOW, that was a long story, sorry!)

So, any suggestions on what you think might be waking Tegan or what we can do to prevent last night from happening again are more than welcomed! We thought that maybe T's cold, so we put him in a long-sleeved onsie and socks under his fleece footed pj tonight, so we'll see if that helps. Our other thought is that maybe, somehow, he's hungry. He is down to only 3 bottles per day and 2 of them are now formula as my supply is very rapidly disappearing. We usually do the formula at his am and bedtime bottles and the breast milk at his 3pm bottle, so I would think that the formula thing probably isn't it as formula takes longer to digest. Who knows!Magnets:Brendan introduced T to the large magnets on our fridge last night. Tegan quickly found a favorite and won't give any of the others the time of day. It's very cute. The neat thing is that the magnet he chose is one that you can pop out the back and insert a photograph, so I put a pic of my parents in it. :) After doing that this morning (putting in the picture) I gave the magnet back to Tegan and he immediately smiled and said "Guh, Guh" which he's been saying when I mention or he sees a pic of his grandparents. I think it's sweet. Ok, sorry, but my fingers are tired and this post has gotten longer than I expected.
Love to all!!!

Movin' & Shakin'

He's gonna get you... as long as you don't go up or down any stairs, he'll get you. :)

So Tegan has become a crawling machine! I was getting his dinner ready in the kitchen while he played in the family room this evening and the next thing I knew he was sitting all but at my feet looking up at me and whining! We not officially have to use the baby gate whenever T is playing on the floor. Also, T is now pulling himself up using chairs, tables, walls, etc...
I'm trying to think of anything else noteworthy. OH, the crying when we drop him off at daycare is very thankfully ceased and, even better, been replaced by him giggling and smiling with excitement upon seeing our daycare provider. YAY!!! What an answer to prayers. Now, if only he'd sleep through the night... yes, I did say that. Tegan has been having a lot of issues with waking up 1/2 way through the night and only being soothed by either being held or coming to bed with Brendan and I. I hate this pattern that's developing but I also cherish my own sleep. After listening to him cry for 30-60 minutes I just have to give in so that I can be functional at work. Any suggestions???
OH, on Saturday our friend Jen (biker Jen), T and I went shopping and look what I found, finally! (I was looking for something similar to this all summer). Yes, it's a small tent that sets up in a matter of seconds, has no poles that need to be assembled, etc. AND is SPF 50! Whooo-eee! This will be AWESOME for bike races next summer to keep T occupied and out of the dangers of the sun. Who cares if it was designed for dogs. --> See the name of the tent below... if you can't read it I'll read it for you "The Instent Dog Haus". And, yes, I they did spell Instent wrong on there. HA! Maybe that's why it was at a Tuesday Morning store (similar to TJ Maxx and Marshalls). Hey, if having a misspelled word on there saves me $50 then I'm all for it!
Here's a cute pic I couldn't help but put in here. Tegan and I watched our favorite TV show tonight... he was too busy to turn all the way around to watch the whole show, though, just bits and pieces by craning his neck to see. Too funny, I thought!

Ok, it's getting late and I'm tired, so it's off to bed for me.

Love to all!!!

The Real Deal - Crawling

Thought everyone might want to see some video of Mr. Man doing it... crawling of course. :)

On Saturday we found out that Tegan also likes pickles... yes, pickles. Sorry Steph, I guess you'll have to scroll down past this one.

Also, with new mobility comes new strength and new trouble... here's a pic of T trying to take out his toy basket... I guess this is a task he needs to continue to work on. (he was stuck in this position for a while, it was pretty funny, even though he was very confused and worried visually and verbally.)
I think we've got a future text messaging pro on our hands
Practicing his pick-up lines:

Ok... enough for today... gotta go enjoy my babe now and stop sharing so much :) love to all!!!

It's a Lie, I Tell You!

So, ya know the old saying "It's like taking candy from a baby"? It's a LIE! Taking candy from a baby isn't that easy, actually. The following is my proof:

I'll also let you know that Mommy was NOT the one to start the candy... just like the whole ice cream thing... Daddy started that one too. :)

Still no pics of the crawl/creep thing that he does. Time for dinner...

He Did It!!!!

Well, Brendan and I are officially in trouble... in a good way, I guess. On Sunday morning, Tegan took his first few crawling steps/moves whatever you want to call them. Now he uses a combination of a couple crawls and some strange worm like motions involving one hand, one forearm, pushing off with his right foot (seems to prefer that one) and sticking his butt way up in the air to maneuver his way around. It's amazing how fast he can already move considering the complexity of his current "crawl". Unfortunately I have no pics of this yet as I was too busy just watching this all take place. Keep checking back for pics... I'll do my best to catch it on 'film' (as they used to say) :) Instead, I'll leave ya with some pics from this weekend.
love to all,

HeaVyweight!!!

Holy Cow! So, we weighed T last night... yes, we used the fish/bike scale again :) Here are a few pics that tell the story. And, yes, we tared/tore (whatever the term is) the scale so the weight you see below does NOT include the weight of the carrier... yes, that's really how much the HUGE Dude weighs. We are getting closer and closer to crawling every day. It's crazy! he pulls himself using anything he can (grabs onto chairs, table legs, etc). He will also just roll over to wherever he wants or pivot his body in that direction. We'll keep you all updated 'cause I know that many of you are anxiously awaiting the crawling announcement :)

While he waits to start crawling, T's decided to read his new book.
Love to all!
